Golden finish in Greece

Huge congratulations to Donatas Tumaitis for his outstanding performance at the European Deaf Orienteering Championships held in Greece 13-17 October.

Donatas came 11th in the Middle Distance event on Wednesday and 7th in the Long Distance event on Thursday, and excelled in the Mens Relays on Saturday. As part of a three man Lithuanian team Donatas took the first leg and put in a great run to finish just 8 seconds behind the leader. On the second leg Mantas Volungevičius put the team into first place, and Rokas Koveckis extended the lead on the third leg to claim gold for Lithuania!

Afterwards Donatas paid tribute to his coach Ričardas Tevelis “your advice and preparation before the start were incredibly important to me!”.

Very well done Donatas for helping Lithuania become European Champions!
